Abstract
Summary form only. The aim of the Forward Ring Imaging Cherenkov detector at the Delphi experiment is hadron identification over most of the momentum range up to 40 GeV/c by Cherenov angle reconstruction. The detector covers the forward-backward regions (15°⩽θ⩽35°). Two radiator systems are used to cover the momentum range, a liquid C6F14 layer and a gaseous C4F10 volume. The ultraviolet photons from the Cherenkov light are detected in a photosensitive time projection chamber
