  • Abstract
    Progress toward integrated, highly functional optical interconnects that could operate at high data rates with much lower overall costs is presented. These integrated solutions are based on high index contrast planar lightwave optical waveguides, micro-resonators and one-dimensional (ID) photonic crystals.
