  • Abstract
There are many different techniques used for data measurement in computer networks. In this paper we analyze different traffic measurement methods provided by Linux operating system. We implement and use these methods in network traffic measurement agent named KaTaLyzer. KaTaLyzer is aimed to provide long time monitoring and traffic measurement in computer networks. In this paper we discuss differences between traffic measurement techniques which are used in different versions of KaTaLyzer. Techniques are compared one to each other via analysis of measurement results and comparison of amount of captured and dropped data.
