Abstract
Mode conversion ratio up to 34% under a magnetic field of 5.5 kG was achieved in a waveguide of diluted magnetic semiconductor Cd/sub 1-x/Mn/sub x/Te grown on GaAs substrate. This result shows the feasibility of monolithic integration of an optical isolator with semiconductor optoelectronic devices.
