Abstract
The computer-aided design of a high-performance driving circuit for a floating power BJT with proportional base drive is presented. The driver circuit power consumption is minimized and the power converter efficiency is maximized by optimizing driving and switching conditions of the power semiconductor switch. Simulation and experimental results are given. The driver circuit is ideally suited to be made in an integrated or hybrid form.<>
