Abstract
This paper presents the design of an adaptive antenna-impedance tuning unit in 0.13 mum CMOS technology. The design is intended for ultra low power medical applications operating at the 2.4 GHz ISM frequency band. It describes the architecture and the design of the different units which are a power amplifier, a pi tunable matching network, an attenuator and a down conversion module with mixer and GmC filter. The automatic matching procedure is simulated and lead to an improvement of 15 dB in the reflection coefficient and an increase of 8 dB in the transmitted power.
