Abstract
This paper presents a robust estimation technique for estimating the spatio-temporal receptive fields (STRFs) of sensory neurons from their responses to STWN stimuli. If the statistics of the stimulus are assumed to be stationary in time and the bound of distortion in each spatial frequency is known, the general RLS problem becomes a multi-column robust estimation min-max problem in time domain. This result produces a more reliable estimation of STRF when the stimulus have structured distortions as mentioned above. The performance of this method is shown by several simulations related to the auditory STRFs estimation
