  • Abstract
    Scheme of product conceptual design has crucial effect on the quality of product. To improve the quality of product, it is very necessary to research on the robustness of the scheme. By analyzing the theory of axiomatic design, theorems of functional robustness and compensation are proposed based on axiomatic design, in order to enhance the robustness of the scheme, and the conceptual design of block forming machine is taken as an example to show the application. Results indicate that the improvement of robustness in conceptual design can lay a solid foundation for next stage design and product quality.
