Abstract
The major field of interest in this study is a cost effective general purpose telemedicine system. In an emergency situation, the immediate monitoring of vital physiological signals of the patient has proven to be extremely important in preventing permanent damage. In this study, a new method capable of transferring real time signals between the patient and the doctor over the internet of mobile system (GPRS, EDGE or 3G) is proposed. To further enhance the doctor´s information the image of different sections of the patient´s body and the position of the patient are also sent over the network. The intended goal of the system is for the doctor to make better and reliable decisions about the patient and accordingly control the situation by accessing the medical instruments at the client location.
