Abstract
Engineering requirements for providing safe bonding and properly sizing electric equipment grounding conductors are addressed. The purpose of grounding is explained, and National Electrical Code requirements for equipment grounding circuits are examined. Types of equipment grounding conductors are briefly described, and engineering and design considerations for their selection and sizing are discussed by way of example calculations for insulated and bare conductor withstand ratings and for conductor sizing when a current-limiting device is used.<>
