Research of using finite automaton in the modeling of lexical analyzer

A lexical analyzer can be used to do lexical analyzing in many kinds of software such as language compiler and document editor. Making model is the basis of the lexical analyzer constructing. The core of making the model for a lexical analyzer is to select a kind of tool to describe lexical grammar properly. The finite automaton can be used to describe the lexical model of a language on the basis of which the lexical analyzer can be constructed. The lexical model and the control program can be acted as the lexical analyzer of a language. In this article, the process of making lexical model by using finite automaton and constructing lexical analyzer on the basis of the lexical model was described. By example, the method of constructing lexical analyzer was correct and effective.
