Abstract
A power allocation in a coded cooperation is investigated. For given a total transmit power, an optimal transmit power ratio is obtained in a sense that the average received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) from the source node and that from the relay node are equal at the sink node. Simulation for a rate compatible punctured convolutional (RCPC) code-based cooperation shows that the power allocation with the optimal transmit power ratio gives the lowest bit error rate.
