Public landscape design in post-disaster reconstruction area after Wenchuan Earthquake

Sichuan province has various folks and Travel Resources before the Earthquake. However the Economic, cultural and environment of the areas influenced by Wenchuan Earthquake were deeply changed. It is urgent to reconstruct public landscape to satisfy not only people located in disaster area, but also tourists from other provinces and countries. This paper firstly summarized the main principles and public landscape design elements of post-disaster reconstruction. Then a public landscape design case combined the characteristic of disasters´ geology with Qiang´s minority culture on Wenchuan was discussed in detail. It showed the design harmony the cultural and social needs in reconstruction area.
