Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a new NDT technique combining induction heating and thermography defect detecting. In this method, the specimen is heated by an inductive source of appropriate frequency. The temperature at the surface of the material is then measured by an infrared camera to detect the position and the dimensions of the defect. This new method is applied to metallic and composite sheets. A shell finite element H - Phi formulation is used to solve the governing equations
