Abstract
The steel tube is used for heat exchanger in petrochemical plant. Since these steel tubes are stored as a bundle, it is necessary to inspect outer side defects on steel tubes from the inside of the tube. In this paper, the alternating flux leakage testing method using inner coil for detecting outer side defects is examined using 3-D FEM. It is shown that the inspection of outer side defect on steel tube is possible even in the case when there exists the cooling fin
