Abstract
The concept of multiphysics optimization is applied to the design of an electric motor. It combines finite elements and analytical models to form together a multiphysics model of the electric motor. The different models represent different machine phenomena as electromagnetic, thermal and vibro-acoustic. These models are strongly coupled through a constrained optimization process that imposes them to be simultaneously in accordance with the specifications
