Abstract
In this paper, a new type of left-handed material (LHM) composed of triangular open-loop resonators (TOLRs) and wires is presented. Two kinds of symmetric TOLRs combinations, vertex to vertex (V-V) and side to side (S-S), are analyzed and manufactured. The parameter retrieval algorithm is used to retrieve the constitutive parameters and the transmission experiments are carried out through waveguide measurements. The results show each transmission peak does appear in each negative index c, which confirm the left-handed characteristic of these two structures.
