Abstract
The current status of integrated optic and optoelectronic devices and circuits is reviewed. The operation of the most common guided wave devices is briefly described together with some new evolutions in the integration of optoelectronic and electronic circuits. Some emphasis is given to modelling techniques which become increasingly important for the design of these devices.
