Abstract
The quantum 1/f theory, as applied to bulk acoustic wave (BAW) and surface acoustic wave (SAW) resonators has recently been generalized to the case of an arbitrary coherence length of the photons, which may be large or small compared with the size of the resonator. The theory has further been extended to include defect scattering along with the phonon scattering case exclusively considered earlier. The present paper compares the new theoretical results with experimental results obtained by F.L. Walls et al., T. Parker et al., J.R. Vig et al., as well as by other research groups
