Abstract
The embedding of transfer function F (z ) as a partial transfer in an orthogonal filter so that the resulting realization of F (z ) is specified as τF=[A F B F; C F D F] is investigated. The necessary and sufficient conditions and a minimum size solution are given. The special case of embedding principal axis realizations is considered. Some new properties concerning the matrix norms or principal axis realizations are derived
