  • Abstract
Major engineering attract much attention due to its possible environmental impact. Taking three different engineering types as cases, this article introduces the method to monitor them and their environmental effect. On the base of suitable remote sensing data selection, monitoring indicators (factors) were discussed thinking of phase-oriented and object-oriented combination strategy. Aiming to reflect and understand the engineering´s impact on environment and its procedure, a set of evaluation method was designed and discussed. This article put forward preliminary suggestion in monitoring category, monitoring content, remote sensing data, indicator (system) and method design for using remote sensing to realize environmental effect assessment of major engineering. It will guide and provide references to the systematically monitoring and assessment of major engineering environmental effect with reasonable scale.
