  • Abstract
With the multidigital era approaching, multimedia has shown up and become more and more demand in present lives; based on this reason, the status of hardware resource is insufficient as well as the function of a chip is out of request such as PDA, mobile phone, and multimedia products. Hence, this paper presents two-dimensional discrete cosine transform (2D-DCT) and two- dimensional inverse discrete cosine transform (2D-IDCT) as reconfigurable function, that is to say both of them are considered to be quite important decoder and encoder in the field of image processing, and extensively being applied for every aspect like H.261, MPEG, JPEG and HDTV. Also, using the flexibility of reconfigurable architecture can implement DCT and IDCTpsilas design as well as increase utility rate of hardware resource to retrieve the insufficient part of hardware resource and get further rise up the performance.
