  • Abstract
The performance of a photovoltaic (PV) array is affected by temperature, solar insolation, shading and faults in PV array. Fault analysis in photovoltaic (PV) system is a fundamental task to protect PV panels from damage and to reduce risks of security hazards. In this context, this paper presents a MATLAB-based modeling and simulation scheme adapted for studying the I-V and P-V characteristics of a PV array under Mismatch Fault, Faults Bypass Diode, Faults Blocking Diode, Faults connectivity, Module Faults and Ground Fault. The proposed model facilitates simulating the dynamic performances of PV-based power systems and also has been validated by means of simulation study.
