Abstract
A simple analysis of a band stop filter consisting of a short circuited dielectric image guide resonator edge-coupled to a dielectric image line is presented. The analysis is compared to experiment in the 26.5 to 40 GHz band, and good agreement between theory and measurement is shown. The analysis is extended to the case of multiple resonators. Theoretical and experimental results for two and three element resonators are presented. Also, it is shown experimentally that non-uniformly coupled resonators have some advantages over uniformly coupled resonators. The synthesis of general filter characteristics using coupled resonators is discussed.
