On-line diagnostic trials on London Electricity´s 11 kV cable system

To detect and locate incipient failure in underground cables before electrical faults occur has potential benefits in terms of customer satisfaction, and quality of supply statistics particularly for “worst served customers”. Techniques are being developed and implemented in London to identify/locate incipient faults in cable systems.
