Abstract
Characterization of the step discontinuity of a coplanar waveguide (CPW) is obtained by applying the transverse resonance technique. Resonant frequencies of the structure are calculated by the full-wave electromagnetic fields analysis. With the resonant frequencies and the network formalism, the scattering matrix representation of the discontinuity is obtained. The resonant frequency of the structure is also measured to confirm the validity of the present analysis.
