Abstract
The decision of injection strategies of polymer flooding in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is investigated. This decision making problem is an optimal control problem (OCP) of a distributed parameter system (DPS). The performance index of optimal control is chosen as a profit function. The distributed parameter system is described by two-dimensional (2D) fluid equations in porous media. A control vector parameterization (CVP) based solving method is presented for numerically solving the optimal control problem. An example of the OCP for a 2D polymer flooding process is exposed and the results show the efficiency of the proposed method.
