Abstract
This paper proposes a ternary variable structure controller based on an iterative generalized integrator for the current control of the converter in active filters. In this manner, the sliding-mode variable structure control law is put into use when the tracking error of reference current exceeds a selected band so that the error reduces rapidly. And the generalized integrator based iterative control algorithm is dominant when the tracking error enters into the band to ensure that the error approaches to zero gradually. As a result, this novel controller provides excellent performance with fast response and high accuracy. Simulations and experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
