Abstract
The performance of CDMA systems has been studied by numerous investigators. In particular, reverse link capacity estimates indicate a potential increase ranging from 10 to 20 times that of the analog system (AMPS) depending on specific assumptions. This result makes broad assumptions and is not related to specific network deployment and traffic distributions. Theoretical results are compared to results obtained from the Graphical Radio Network Engineering Tool (GRANET), a state-of-the-art radio planning tool that accounts for the deployment of CDMA sites, radio propagation, receiver sensitivity, grade of service provided, and supported traffic
