Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. A brief overview of the field of diagnostics for burning plasma experiments is given, with the specific emphasis on a number of the issues listed above. The red line through the presentation is the determination of the measurement requirements for the various plasma parameters in ITER. A few diagnostic techniques are highlighted and the specific challenges that are encountered when implementing these systems on a future burning plasma experiment will be addressed.
