Abstract
This paper introduces the operation principle of bearingless motors. The electromagnetic torque and magnetic levitation force of a bearingless motor with four rotor structures have been calculated and analyzed by means of finite element analysis. A new type of rotor structure is proposed based on the comparative study on torque and levitation force for different rotor structures
