Abstract
In order to control power flows to utilize the maximum capacity of existing networks, the use of power flow controllers is significantly increasing in the context of a deregulated electric power system. For this reason, in this paper, a multiarea power system with several thyristor-controlled PSTs and/or SSSCs installed is considered. In a previous paper the authors, obtaining significant results, proposed the overlapping decomposition technique for implementing an opportune decentralised control law of an SSSC operating as a Phase Shifter. Therefore, the same technique has been properly extended to a multiarea power system with several thyristor-controlled PSTs and/or SSSCs.
