Abstract
The authors are proposing an original mathematical model designed for congestion management (CM). Considering the new deregulated environment the CM probabilistic approach is tackled for highlighting special situations that are not revealed using traditional power flow. A tool specific for power transactions within deregulated environment is represented by the ATC capacity evaluation. Thus, the authors are also focusing on this subject. But, for the latter only the deterministic results are presented. A real power system is used as a case study: the Romanian Power System (represented at transmission network level). Based on the conclusions highlighted from the probabilistic CM and ATC evaluation, the power system areas that have to be reinforced are pointed-out. As a solution an expansion scenario is proposed.
