Abstract
A novel noise reduction (NR) system, MMOT-NR, is proposed. It consists of a multiframe block-based motion estimator which uses the least trimmed square (LTS) algorithm, a pixel-based trajectory correction unit, an outlier rejection unit, an NR unit, and an NR breakdown detector. Simulation results from HDTV (high-definition television) color images are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of this system.<>
