  • Abstract
This paper gives a new symmetric cryptosystem using twelve rounds enhanced by. sixty-four wheels rotor operating on all the 256 characters indicated by the ASCII. It uses six groups of key-dependent s-boxes each group contains four s-boxes. Each s-box consisting of eight input bits and eight output, bits. Also thirty-two bits modulo additions and multiplications are used. Numerical results are used to implement the proposed. cryptosystem. The strength of this system is compared with the well known DES and IDEA symmetric systems and gives excellent results from the point of view of the security characteristics and the statistics of the ciphertext so the authors suggest to use the REBC in the area of banking and electronic fund transfer.
