Abstract
It is the ultimate challenge for humans to solve or prevent environmental and social problems and achieve “sustainable development (SD).” Achieving SD is a goal-oriented task; therefore, applying control science is a rational approach. Based on this recognition, we have already shown the basic control system for SD. Here this study demonstrates a method for promoting smooth design of practical control systems for SD. First, we provide the two-step preparatory work for identifying system components of such control systems. Next, we apply this method to homes and conduct a case study, whose results show the effectiveness of this method.
