Abstract
As the complexity and diversity of commodity specifications increase, sensor automation for product inspection is becoming more difficult. In particular, the need to tune sensors so that they are customized to specific conditions and environmental factors is making such automation a very difficult task. This paper presents a method for automating such a sensor-tuning process, which is based upon a distributed sensing approach using multiple vision sensors. We focus on the effects of varying the inter-agent dependence as well as the agent-organization dependence on the overall performance, and we discuss the results in terms of organizational learning
