  • Abstract
    Basis weight and moisture content are the two most important control variables which determine the quality of finished paper in paper-making process. According to the two variables´ characteristic of strong intercoupling and property of large time delay, a method based on multivariable predictive function control (MPFC) algorithm for first-order plus time delay is proposed to employ to the basis weight and moisture control system. The simulation results of the basis weight & moisture content control system demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of this algorithm. And practices prove that the control system can satisfy the requirements of paper-making process.
