  • Abstract
The optical burst switching (OBS) technology is a promising solution for the next generation Internet backbone. It allows high bandwidth and controlled delays. However, call admission control (CAC) and QoS support constitute critical issues in the development of the services it can offer. In this paper, we develop a dynamic QoS-oriented approach to address the CAC issue in OBS networks. An analytic model is developed for a mathematical formulation of the proposed approach and a performance analysis based on a real time estimation of delays. Finally, simulation model is developed to evaluate the developed approach and study its features.
