Abstract
Relay transmission has been incorporated in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for Long-Term Evolution (LTE) Enhancements (LTE-Advanced, or LTE-A). To effectively harvest the performance gain introduced by the relay transmission, wireless network coding techniques can be adopted. In this paper, using a simple three-node cooperative relay channel model, based on the decode-and-forward protocol, we consider a few wireless network coding techniques which can be used in advanced cooperative communications to improve the transmission efficiency and enhance the system performance.
