Abstract
In this paper, we describe the lattice constant of a and c are 2.506 /spl Aring/ for pure Co and are 2.706 /spl Aring/ and 4.28 for pure Ru. Lattice mismatch between Co alloy layer and Ru layer are expected to be high in AFC media, which can cause poor Cr(100)//Co(1120) epitaxy, resulting in SNR degradation.
