Abstract
PAPR is one of the major drawbacks for the widely adopted communication technique, OFDM (orthogonal frequency dividing multiplexing). There are a lot of researches proposed to reduce the PAPR at the cost of either performance degradation or bandwidth inefficiency. In this paper, a cross-layer design for joint PAPR reduction and multi-resolution resource allocation is introduced, which has neither performance degradation nor side information. The variability of multi-resolution data in both envelopes and phases can help the PAPR reduction via resource allocations. And the number of searches of candidate signals with different resource allocations is analyzed. The simulation results show that the PAPR is substantially reduced by the proposed scheme without any side information and modification in receivers.
