Abstract
This paper deals with the magnetics design of tank inductors for resonant switching power converters for power levels in the range 10 kVA to 30 kVA. The problem of HF AC inductors is especially critical as energy storage requirements are high. The use of gapped cores leads to fringing flux across air gaps which causes gap heating and increases in winding losses caused by induced eddy currents. As a result, special attention must be given to the winding arrangement and core geometry
