Abstract
This work reports, for the first time as far as we know, the application of the PROUD technique to optical pulses generated by a semiconductor laser. The differentiator is implemented by means of a novel approach based on a polarization maintaining fiber (PMF) and two polarizers oriented at 45° with respect to the fiber axes.
