  • Abstract
    A gas-insulated substation (GIS) test model was set up and a GIS partial discharge (PD) online detection system by a UHF sensing technique was developed. Investigation was made on the diagnosis of PDs in GIS. Testing with different insulation defects in GIS and comparing between the waveforms of the UHF measurement, the features of the different PDs were investigated, and the PD form recognition was performed. Based on the results of the UHF PD measurement and the conventional PD measurement, the PD quantities of the defects in GIS were estimated
