Abstract
Handoff allows mobile users to move between areas serviced by different basestations in a wireless network. This paper shows how to analyzes a hysteresis based hard handoff algorithm. The distribution of the signal strength at the mobile is derived. Bounds on the mean received signal strength are derived using the Gaussian properties of the fading components of the signal
