Abstract
An experimental system allowing extensive indoor propagation measurements in the space domain, at microwave frequencies is described. Analysis of measurements performed, in typical domestic environments, at 5.8 GHz, showed that, for single room systems, the exponent of the average power loss versus distance is approximately equal to 2. It has also been found that the statistics of the spatial multipath fading follows a Rician law for 88% of the performed measurements. For the remaining 12% of cases, corresponding to the most obstructed situations between the transmitter and the receiver, a Rayleigh law has been found.
