  • Abstract
    A novel broadband, low loss, medium/high power variable power divider (VPD) is proposed. It consists of a polarization rotator followed by a septum polarizer in cascade with a 3 dB hybrid. This VPD can be collocated in between the two classical topologies based on the two hybrid/two variable phase shifters and the polarization rotator among two orthomode transducers (OMT´s) respectively. Wideband operation, low losses and accurate output voltages vs. frequency and setting are the key characteristics of this component.
