Abstract
This paper presents a fully integrated 8-GHz quadrature-voltage-controlled oscillator (QVCO) design for high data rate ultra wideband (UWB) communication applications. Implemented in 0.18 mum CMOS technology, the designed QVCO achieved a tuning range of 7.8 GHz to 8.44 GHz, a phase noise of -94.7 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset consuming 8.3 mA core current at 1.8 V supply.
