  • Abstract
    An indoor wireless system strategy based on a multiple-antenna-multiple-equalizer (MAME system) is discussed. Wireless local area networks (WLANs) are the main targeted application. The superior interference suppression capability of the MAME system enables increased capacity in this WLAN. However, benefits in receiver filtering, despreading, choice of code sequences, and in dealing with the near-far problem are also possible. These advantages are discussed and simulation results presented to support the ideas
